Dr. James E Murphy was born and raised in Reno NV.

He received his medical degree from The University of Nevada Reno, school of Medicine.

He went on to complete his general surgery training at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He received his plastic surgery training at Wake Forest/Bowman Gray University at Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. Dr. Murphy is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also accredited in Age Management Medicine, providing Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy.

Dr. Murphy has provided cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in Northern Nevada for over 11 years, including the majority of children with cleft lips/palates. Dr. Murphy has an easy, relaxed manner, and provides superior results.
